Those concentrated moments of DPS make a huge difference. Meat, traps, toppled, mounts, everything you got. Having Jho staying still for 10+ seconds makes a huge difference where it took me 20-25 minutes to kill Jho with a HBG, it took me 15 with the Aerial Switch Axe. I ended up beating Out of the Fry Pan with an Aerial Switch Axe, and the number of topples and mounts I got were astounding. If you can find a way to keep Jho stunned/toppled, you'll be able to get in a ton of damage. It's a long mission and Jho is a goddamn tank, so you need to have a lot of resources to last three creatures. When I attempted a HBG run, I brought combo books 1-4 and all the materials needed for Pierce and Normal Shots, as well as Farcasters for emergency retreats, which you may find yourself needing a lot of when the gate opens. If you're running LBG, bring combo books and extra materials. Para meat gives you free hits, drugged meat gives you one free huge hit (sleep bombing or something), poisoned meat chips at him slowly and can be used twice in a row unlike other meats. Because of this, I feel like it's worth feeding him, as his exhausted state is super annoying.īring different meats with different effects, as they'll provide various benefits. Exhausted Jho is a damn pain due to the way he hounds you nonstop and covers you in his Def Down saliva. Make use of the meat in the box, and don't be afraid to even bring your own in. Jho does a good amount of damage as it is you don't need to be at any more of a disadvantage than you already are. The easiest thing to do is to stack as many Evasion+ skills as possible and dodge toward his legs (or his head/tail if he's trying to tackle you).Īlso, if you suck at dodging his insta-bite that inflicts Defense Down, like I am, make sure to bring along Armordrugs and Mega Armordrugs. Just about everything he can do just utterly destroys you if you dodge away from him. I'd probably agree with you if the first monster had been anything other than a damn Deviljho.įor OP: In addition to what /u/Sykes77 said- if you don't know already: Whatever you do, don't dodge away from Deviljho. Granted, I was using LS which I'm not super proficient with, but the damage alone was pretty brutal. He'd spam that godawful tackle and one-shot me to oblivion constantly. I did it with lvl 6 Narga armor (roughly 300 defense) and was just getting destroyed by the Deviljho. I beat The Master's Test on my second try (which was effectively my first, because my first try was a "Oh, I wonder how well I'll have to prepare for this" run), but OotFP took me at least 5 tries. I had the exact opposite experience that you did. STAY CALM AND FOCUS, A HUNTER ALWAYS PREVAILS. Rinse repeat (minus fence/smoke bombs) for the other of the twoĮDIT: DON'T LOSE YOUR SHIT, IT GETS INTENSE. Drop a trap and WAIL ON THE DPS until target 1 is killed Keep them separated by fence: THIS IS A MUST Utilize your smoke bombs: ALWAYS KEEP IT SMOKEY Focus one of the Two: Tigrex or narg (i chose Narg because i know that sonofa like the back of my hand) Focus Jho down, play conservatively, DON'T USE TRAPS. The other is 4u took me a good ~5 tries, this time around (with my knowledge and planning from last time taken into account) i got it the second try (1st time i left for the hunt without any of my specials: Smoke Bombs, farcaster+mats, max potion mats, traps, trap mats, etc) I remember doing the master's test in 4u and the other one for the rainbow pigment (i may be mixing up their names, but i know there were two quests similar to this) As a side note, "Out of the Frying Pan" was actually not that difficult.
